Banja Luka: Stathood Day of the Republic of Serbia formally commemorated |

On February 14, 2016, the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbiain Banja Luka commemorated the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia with a formal academy ceremony, which was held at the National Theatre of the Republic of Srpska.
As part of the activities commemorating Serbian Statehood Day, in cooperation with the Republic of Srpska's Republic Pedagogical Institute, the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia previously organized a contest for the best literary paper of high-school students, the topic being "How I See Serbia in the Future". During the formal academy, the names of ten authors of best papers were read out, and they would be rewarded with a free weekend in Serbia. The National Ensemble of Traditional Dances and Songs "Kolo" performed in the main segment of the event's programme. This formal event was attended by over 350 guests, and among them were the President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the Republic of Srpska Mladen Ivanic, Chairman of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ognjen Tadic and other high-ranking officials. President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik, Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in Banja Luka Vladimir Nikolic and Executive Director of "M:Tel" Djordje Misic addressed the guests. The formal academy received considerable attention in the media, as well as positive reviews and numerous praises. |
