First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today a farewell call from His Excellency Mr. Michael Kirby, Ambassador of the United States to the Republic of Serbia.

Minister Dacic thanked Ambassador Kirby for the excellent cooperation maintained so far and the contribution made by the Ambassador to the enhancement of the overall bilateral relations, which reached a very high level during the Ambassador's term-of-office in the Republic of Serbia. The Minister was grateful to the Ambassador in particular for US support to Serbia's European path, it being one of Serbia's chief foreign-policy objectives, as well as for the support extended to the Brussels dialogue and for recognizing Serbia as the stabilizing factor in the region of the Western Balkans.

Ambassador Michael Kirby was thankful for the cordial reception bestowed on him during his tenure in the Republic of Serbia. Furthermore, Ambassador Kirby stressed his satisfaction with the cooperation so far, assessing that substantial development of bilateral relations had taken place in the said period, and that a regular high-level dialogue had been established. He voiced his hope and his firm belief that such a positive trend of cooperation would be sustained in the future as well.
