56th IPRM meeting takes place in Ergneti

246015 ergenti_56On 24th June 2015, the 56th meeting under the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) took place in Ergneti, co-facilitated by Kęstutis Jankauskas, the Head of the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM), and Ambassador Angelo Gnaedinger, the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-office for the South Caucasus.

The co-facilitators welcomed the calm security situation along the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) and noted the decrease in detentions since the last IPRM meeting. The participants continued extensive discussions on the follow-up items from the previous meetings.

The participants discussed recent occurrences in the vicinity of the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) and ways to avoid them in the future.

The participants agreed to establish specific communication over the Hotline in order to manage irrigation water flows to the benefit of local farmers.

At the end of the meeting the participants agreed to hand over one of the recently detained persons.

The next IPRM meeting will take place on 30 July.
