“The decision of Kosovo’s Constitutional Court to suspend the agreement on the establishment of the Community of Serbian Municipalities (CSM) is an unprecedented case of circumventing the agreement reached with EU facilitation in Brussels, posing a serious threat to regional stability.
Since creation of the CSM is the core of the Brussels agreement, this gesture of Pristina has dealt a heavy blow to the Brussels dialogue, making it pointless. Pristina is mocking the international community and the European Union, since there is no proviso for the suspension of the Brussels agreement by any of the parties. It is now on the EU and the US to react, as they would have already done so by condemnation in the strongest of terms, had Serbia suspended any agreement.” |
