Ambassador Vladimir Maric presented his Letters of Credence to President of Sri Lanka, H. E. Mr. Maithripala Sirisena in Colombo, on 5 November 2015.

In the talk that followed the presentation of the Letters of Credence, President Sirisena expressed the readiness of Sri Lanka to strengthen bilateral cooperationwith Serbia. Ambassador Maric conveyed the greetings of President Tomislav Nikolic to President Sirisena, stressing that during his term-of-office, he wouldaspire to broaden the traditional ties between Sri Lanka and Serbia, dating back to the establishment of the Non-Aligned Movement, particularly in areas of economy and sports cooperation.

Ambassador Maricalso met KaruJayasuriya, Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka. Possibilities for the strengthening of parliamentary cooperation, including the foundation of the friendship group with Serbia in the Parliament of Sri Lanka, among others, featured in the talks.
