logo ministarstvaThe Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia presented today a note to the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Belgrade, in strongest protest against the measures banning entry into the Republic of Croatia, implemented by the competent authorities against holders of passports of the Republic of Serbia and vehicles bearing Serbian registration plates on border crossings between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Croatia.

“These and similar measures applied by the police authorities of the Republic of Croatia, and particularly the physical separation of holders of passports of the Republic of Serbia from other passengers, are unheard-of in the civilized world. By their discriminatory nature, they can be compared only to the measures taken in the past, at the time of fascist Independent State of Croatia. By undertaking these measures, Croatia is grossly violating the fundamental principles of the European Union, United Nations, Council of Europe and other international organization of which it is a member.

The Government of the Republic of Serbia requests immediate termination of such practice by the competent authorities of the Republic of Croatia”, states the protest note of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.
