“The Republic of Serbia is grateful to EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Federica Mogherini for her highly appropriate statement affirming Serbia’s position that closing the border to freight traffic by Croatia is not a solution, and that it has a negative impact on the region.
Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and the Government of the Republic of Serbia have underlined from the very beginning Serbia’s readiness to approach the resolution of the problem constructively. Serbia expects that, given such a position of the EU High Representative, Croatia will immediately withdraw its illegal unilateral decision on closing borders to freight traffic. Freedom of movement of goods, people and capital is one of the fundamental EU principles that has been violated by Croatia, as an EU Member State”, stated First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic. |
