First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today Ambassador of the Republic of India in the Republic of Serbia, Shrimati Narinder Chauhan.
It was mutually assessed that the relations between Serbia and India had been traditionally friendly, and based upon the principles enshrined in the UN Charter and the Non-Aligned Movement. In the talks, Minister Dacic expressed his satisfaction at the overall cooperation between Serbia and India, and voiced his interest in further intensification of the political dialogue, economic cooperation, and increased Indian investments in Serbia. The Minister briefed Ambassador Chauhan on Serbia’s positions vis-à-vis the issue of Serbian cultural heritage in Kosovo and Metohija, and the monuments inscribed on the UNESCO List of World Heritage in Danger. Ambassador Chauhan spoke in favour of the enhancement of bilateral political and economic relations, and in favour of strengthening cultural and educational cooperation and cooperation within international organizations. The Ambassador explained India’s stance concerning UN reform and the related reform of the UN Security Council. |
