Minister Dacic meets the Ambassador of Egypt to Belgrade

Dacic -_ambasadorka_EgiptaFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today a farewell call from the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mrs. Menha Mahrous Bahum.

Minister Dacic thanked the Ambassador for her contribution to the promotion of bilateral relations between Serbia and Egypt, expressing his wish that the cooperation and good relations would be continued in the future, as well.

The Serbian Foreign Minister recalled the recent meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt at the opening of the New Suez Canal, indicating the importance of exchanging visits at the highest level.

Minister Dacic expressed his interest in the enhancement of all-round cooperation between Serbia and Egypt, which is the best indicator of the traditional friendship between the two peoples and the role that both countries have played in the history of the Non-Aligned Movement. He recalled Serbia’s decision to support the candidature of Egypt as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in 2016-2017.

At today’s meeting, Minister Dacic expressed his expectation that Egypt would not support the initiative for Kosovo’s membership of UNESCO.
