His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej received in audience today, on 13 August 2015, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic accompanied by Serbia’s Permanent Representative to UNESCO Prof. Dr. Darko Tanaskovic.

The meeting was also attended by members of the Holy Synod His Eminence Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral Dr. Amfilohije and His Eminence Bishop of Backa Dr. Irinej.
Activities related to so-called Kosovo’s aspirations to join UNESCO were discussed. They stressed the willingness to cooperate fully and consider specific modalities for coordinating efforts aimed at protecting the interests of both the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian Orthodox Church in the southern Serbian province.
