Minister Dacic met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt

mip egiptaSerbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic will attend the opening ceremony of the new Suez Canal, tomorrow.

This momentous historic event will be attended, as announced, by more than 20 Presidents and Prime Ministers (French President Francois Hollande and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, among others), as well as dozens of Ministers from around the world.

Minister Dacic was welcomed at the airport by Minister in charge of technical and vocational education and training Mohamed Youssef. A meeting of Dacic and his Egyptian counterpart, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, was organized. The Egyptian official expressed satisfaction that the Serbian delegation was able to attend the opening ceremony of the new Suez Canal adding that this was seen as yet another proof of the friendship existing between the Egyptian and Serbian people.

The Serbian Foreign Minister congratulated his counterpart on the realization of this important project. In the meeting they recognized the need for closer and more active cooperation at the bilateral and multilateral level, in order to facilitate identification of the needs of both peoples and the interests of both countries. Minister Dacic invited his Egyptian counterpart to visit the Republic of Serbia, possibly as early as December, when Belgrade will host Foreign Ministers in the framework of Serbia’s OSCE Chairmanship and bearing in mind that Egypt is a Mediterranean Partner for Cooperation of this Organization.
