poseta larijaniju_predcedniku_parlamenta_1First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today in Tehran Speaker of the Consultative Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Larijani. They pointed out in the talks the friendly relations between the two countries and their shared interest to develop an all-round cooperation between them. Iran’s official welcomed the important role and position of Serbia in the region.

The Iranian side expressed the desire to intensify interparliamentary cooperation with Serbia and, in this regard, voiced the hope that a visit by Serbian National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic would take place by the end of the year.
Note was taken in the discussions of a small commercial exchange and the intention to hold a session of the Joint Committee in Tehran by the end of the current year was hailed. This would no doubt give an added impetus to the development of their bilateral cooperation in this field.

They also discussed global issues such as countering violent extremism and radicalisation that lead to terrorism.
