First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic received today, on 25 June, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic Nikos Kotzias, who is paying an official visit to Serbia within his Balkan tour.

Ministers Dacic and Kotzias reiterated that the bilateral relations between the two countries were traditionally friendly and void of any outstanding issues. The two interlocutors agreed on the importance of intensification of regional cooperation, particularly in the field of migration policy that is a current major challenge for the region.

The two Ministers noted that political dialogue should be enhanced through more frequent meetings on high and top levels. They also pointed to the possibility of holding sessions of the two Governments as well as to the trilateral cooperation with the countries in the region on issues of mutual interest.

The two Ministers agreed that there was room for promoting cooperation both in the economic field and in the infrastructure and energy sectors.

The Greek side reasserted its support to Serbia on its European integration path as well as its readiness to establish joint mechanisms for technical cooperation aimed at resolving the issues of interest with regard to the integration process.

Mr. Kotzias underlined that Greece was always ready to convey the messages of Serbia to the European Union.
