First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić today received, in the capacity of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, a candidate for the post of his Special Representative in Ukraine, an Austrian diplomat, Ambassador Martin Sajdik.
Sajdik should succeed Swiss Ambassador Heidi Tagliavini to this post, which includes the duty of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Special Representative in the Trilateral Contact Group. OSCE CiO Dačić discussed with Ambassador Sajdik the role of the OSCE in the diplomatic efforts to end the crisis in and around Ukraine, as well as the hitherto work of the Trilateral Contact Group, under the auspices of which four working groups for the implementation of the Minsk Agreements are working. The collocutors agreed that the role of the OSCE, the only international presence in the field and the organization which manages to bring all sides to the same table, is of crucial importance for reaching a political solution for the crisis. |
