OSCE Chairperson-in-Office/ First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic had a telephone conversation last night with Head of Russian diplomacy Sergey Lavrov.

In their conversation, the conclusion was made that the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements, agreed on 12 February this year, was an opportunity that should not be missed to reach a peaceful solution to the crisis in and around Ukraine, for which purpose it was necessary that all sides abided by the obligations assumed on that occasion.

OSCE Chair Dacic reiterated both the willingness and readiness of the OSCE to do everything possible to assist in the implementation of the Minsk Agreements, within its mandate. In addition, he expressed his expectation that the Trilateral Contact Group would, in the coming week, discuss the steps to be taken to intensify the political process for the resolution of the crisis, as agreed at the meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Troika in Belgrade on 28 April.
