Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Veljko Odalovic received today the delegation of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, headed by this
institution’s President Wang Weiguang, who has never visited Serbia before. The importance of relations existing between Serbia and China, whose quality mirrors the history of maintaining the traditional friendship, featured as one of the topics in cordial talks. The latest foreign-policy activities carried out by PR China, which lent its full attention to the South-East Europe region through the China- Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) cooperation mechanism, had been emphasized. The need to strengthen scientific cooperation within the initiatives put forward by the two countries’ academic institutions and the role of the scientific thought in the creation of the development strategy of a country and its society, have been highlighted in particular. The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, founded in 1977, is one of the leading academies worldwide, and the top-level academic research institution in PR China, operating under the direct authority of the State Council. Over 30 institutes and 4,000 researchers work under its auspices in all scientific areas, their contribution to the conception of state projects being greatly important for the future of Chinese development. |
