Minister Dacic met with Head of the EULEX Mission to Kosovo |

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic met with Gabriele Meucci, Head of the EULEX Mission to Kosovo visiting Belgrade today.
Minister Dacic expressed satisfaction with the decision of the EU Council to extend the mandate of the EULEX Mission until 14 June 2016, bearing in mind its importance in the efforts to establish the rule of law. Minister added that Serbia highly appreciated the involvement of the EULEX mission in promoting respect for human rights, primarily the protection of the rights of the Serbian population in Kosovo and Metohija and reiterated Serbia’s interest for the longest possible presence of international missions in Kosovo and Metohija. Meucci stressed that, in addition to its regular duties, the EULEX mission is dedicated to the implementation of agreements reached in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and praised what was done in this area so far. He pointed out that a significant progress was made in the rule of law, and that an increase was noted in the confidence of the local population in the judicial and police authorities. |
