Bilateral political consultations between Foreign Ministries of Serbia and Slovenia on multilateral issues |

As part of the regular enhanced dialogue between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Slovenia on numerous issues, bilateral political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia on multilateral issues were held in Ljubljana, on 21 April 2015.
The Serbian delegation was headed by Ambassador Mira Nikolic, Acting Assistant Foreign Minister for Multilateral Activities, while the Slovenian delegation was led by Ambassador Sanja Stiglic, Director-General for Global Issues and Multilateral Political Relations. In the talks, special emphasis was put on Serbia’s OSCE Chairmanship, identified priorities, and also the current issues within the OSCE. Both sides underlined the importance of cooperation within the United Nations, especially on issues of the post-2015 Development Agenda, human rights and UN peace operations. The high level of cooperation and mutual support to candidatures in international bodies was stressed in the talks. Both sides also expressed interest for continued cooperation on multilateral issues, as well as the continuation of positive dynamics in contacts between the two Ministries. Within the consultations, Acting Assistant Foreign Minister for Multilateral Activities, Ambassador Nikolic also had talks with Ambassador Mitja Strukelj, Director-General for International Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Assistance at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, and with State Secretary, Ambassador Bogdan Benko. In the talks with State Secretary Benko, the significance of cooperation and continued dialogue between Serbia and Slovenia on multilateral issues of common interest was highlighted once again. |
