zgrada msp-aThe Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia welcomes the Framework Agreement on Iran's nuclear programme, reached by participants of the P5+1 format negotiations and Iran with EU participation, in Lausanne, on 2 April 2015.

This agreement on key parameters of the Iranian nuclear programme, on whose foundations an all-embracing Agreement on the Iranian nuclear programme is to be reached, is the result of voiced constructiveness, dedication, endurance, and primarily the political will and readiness to come to an agreement, as demonstrated by all negotiating parties.

We believe that the Lausanne Agreement reinvigorates the prospects for the realization of the ultimate goal of arriving at an overarching agreement over Iranian nuclear programme. Everything aforesaid should pave the way for the lifting of sanctions imposed on Iran under the relevant Resolutions of the UN Security Council and decisions of the EU and the USA.

The Lausanne agreement confirms, at the same time, that it is possible to reach an agreement even on the most complex of issues when there is a strong interest to do so and the intent to find a solution at the negotiating table.
