Serbia fostering friendly relations with South-East Asian countries

mahbubaniFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today Kishore Mahbubani, a highly influential expert in international relations, prominent diplomat and a former senior official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore who served as President of the UN Security Council twice, and is currently the Dean of the “Lee Kuan Yew” School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore.

In a cordial conversation opinions were exchanged on global issues and challenges, and also on ways of improving regional and world peace and security. It was emphasized that Serbia fostered friendly relations of mutual understanding with countries of South-East Asia, with a special interest in drawing on experiences of Singapore as an example of successful economic leadership in the region.

The Head of Serbian diplomacy stressed that Kishore Mahbubani and experts like him contributed to deepening the cooperation between Serbia and Singapore. Minister Dacic congratulated Mahbubani on his book “The Great Convergence: Asia, the West, and the Logic of One World” being published in Serbian by the Center for International Relations and Sustainable Development.
