First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic met today in Belgrade with Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov.
The Ministers agreed during the talks that the relations between Serbia and Bulgaria were good and that both sides shared readiness for their further promotion on the basis of mutual interests, as well as readiness to continue working on joint infrastructure projects. Heads of diplomacy of Serbia and Bulgaria announced at their joint press conference that the two countries would continue working together on projects such as Corridor 10, railways, gas interconnections and the connection of electric power systems. Minister Mitov, who is on his first visit to Belgrade in the capacity as Minister of Foreign Affairs, said that Bulgaria would continue to support Serbia in its EU integration process and expressed the country’s readiness to share its experiences, both positive and negative, and help Serbia on this path. In today’s meeting, Ministers Dacic and Mitov also talked about the position of national minorities. “We should resolve all problems in the spirit of friendship and enable a better position of national minorities”, said Dacic, while Mitov expressed gratitude to the Serbian Government for its readiness to resolve any problems of the Bulgarian minority should they arise. |
