First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic met today with the Canadian Ambassador in Belgrade Phillip Pinnington.

In a cordial conversation Minister Dacic welcomed Ambassador Pinnington and wished him a successful tenure stressing that a positive momentum produced by last year’s visit of Canadian Foreign Minister John Baird should be used for the further strengthening of overall bilateral relations.
Ambassador Pinnington stressed readiness to continue his engagement in improving bilateral relations, especially in the field of economic cooperation. He said that Canada would continue to support the European course of our country, as well as to fully support the Belgrade–Pristina dialogue, which he believed would contribute to achieving full stability of the entire region.
He congratulated the Republic of Serbia and Minister Dacic on this year’s OSCE Chairmanship and emphasized the openness of Canada to cooperate on all issues in this important process.
