Minister Dacic discusses enhancement of bilateral relations with his Ethiopian counterpart

dacic -_mip_etiopijeFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia Tedros Adhanom in Addis Ababa.

First Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Dacic recalled the years-long historical ties between the two countries and thanked his counterpart for Ethiopia’s principled position vis-à-vis the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo and Metohija. Minister Dacic extended an invitation to his Ethiopian counterpart to make an official visit to Serbia by the end of the year. The Ethiopian Foreign Minister accepted Minister Dacic’s invitation with pleasure.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia confirmed that Ethiopia would consistently adhere to its decision not to recognize the unilaterally declared independence of the southern Serbian province, highlighting that the Ethiopian position was based on the principles of the respect of international law, and underscoring that Ethiopia respected Serbia’s arguments regarding this issue.
In their friendly talks, the two Ministers expressed mutual interest in the advancement of bilateral economic cooperation.
