mspAs regards some media reports speculating about the alleged recognition of the unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo by Ethiopia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia pointed out that this has never been mentioned in the official talks with the Ethiopian side, nor was there any indication that could signal the shift in firm stance of Ethiopia concerning the issue of its non-recognition of the unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs has repeatedly received assurances from the Ethiopian side that there will be no change of position concerning the issue of non-recognition of the unilateral declaration of Kosovo.
At the same time, the Republic of Serbia remains consistent and committed to the further promotion of political, economic and other bilateral relations with Ethiopia, which will be discussed in more detail during the upcoming official visits.
Republic of Serbia and Ethiopia have been and remain consistent in maintaining traditionally good relations between the two countries since the time of SFRY, lasting to the present-day.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to work on strengthening the relations with Ethiopia not only on bilateral but also on multilateral level, particularly in relation to initiatives taken by the African Union but also with all other UN initiatives related to the African continent.
