First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today a courtesy call by the delegation of the Senate of the Italian Republic paying a visit to the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.
The talks between Serbian Foreign Minister and Chairman of the Committee on EU policies Senator Vannino Chiti, Senators Pietro Liuzzi and Marcello Gualdani, and Senate official Giovanni Baiocchi, reflected a high level of bilateral relations and affirmed Italy’s support to Serbian further EU integration process. Senator Chiti stressed that the Resolution supporting Serbia’s opening of negotiation chapters was adopted unanimously by the Italian Senate. He announced intensive cooperation between the Italian Senate and the Serbian Parliament, particularly between their respective European Integration Committees, visits aimed at professional training, and joint activities in other EU countries, in order to promote Serbia’s future EU membership. In the area of multilateral cooperation, the officials underlined that Serbian forthcoming OSCE Chairmanship was important for affirming Serbia’s role as a stability factor in the region. |
