First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic talked today with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ana Trisic Babic, who headed the delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the security policy consultations, held today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia. Serbian delegation was headed by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Roksanda Nincic.

The parties expressed their satisfaction at the regular practice of holding consultations between the two countries in the security policy area which, along with other forms of cooperation, contribute to the strengthening of bilateral dialogue. Views were exchanged during the talks on the situation in the region and the modalities for further enhancement of regional cooperation in the area of security and settlement of outstanding issues through dialogue and compromise. Minister Dacic underscored that Serbia strongly supported territorial integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and every agreement reached between the two entities and three constituent peoples.
The Serbian Foreign Minister informed his interlocutor on the priorities of Serbia’s 2015 OSCE Chairmanship, and Serbian support to the fight against terrorism, including the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, which posed not only a global, but regional security threat as well. The Minister pointed out that in the area of common security and defence policy, the Republic of Serbia had shown, through its participation in EU missions and operations, its firm commitment to making a concrete contribution to global, European, and regional security, as well as the respect of international law, thus additionally affirming its European orientation.
The discussions were focused on the possibility of putting forward joint initiatives during Serbia’s OSCE Chairmanship and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Chairmanship of the Council of Europe, to be assumed in May 2015.
Minister Dacic conveyed Serbian interest in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s experience in partner cooperation with NATO, since the adoption of the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) between the Republic of Serbia and NATO is expected shortly, following which the level of Serbia’s political dialogue with NATO is expected to be raised.
