Meeting of Minister Dacic with Niels AnnenFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with Bundestag MP Niels Annen, member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany and chief of the SPD faction in the Bundestag Foreign Affairs Committee.

Minister Dacic emphasized during the talks that Serbia was fully prepared for the negotiating process on EU accession and expressed his expectations that Germany would positively assess the Serbian Government’s policy regarding the implementation of internal reforms, participation in the dialogue with Pristina and its contribution to the stabilization of the region, and that it would support Serbia in the negotiations.
Niels Annen congratulated the Serbian Foreign Minister on the assumption of OSCE Chairmanship, underlining that this was an expression of OSCE participating States’ growing confidence in Serbia. In addition, Germany will become, along with Serbia, part of the OSCE Troika, next year.
Topics in the area of bilateral cooperation were also discussed during the talks and Minister Dacic emphasized that Serbia was ready to develop and enhance its overall cooperation with Germany, one of Serbia’s principal trade partners. Serbia’s foreign exchange has recorded a tendency of growth in the initial ten months of this year, while a record value of almost three billion Euros was reached last year.
