First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia received today a courtesy visit by Alexis Tsipras, Leader of the largest Opposition Party in the Hellenic Republic.
Having assessed the bilateral relations between the two countries as traditionally friendly, the two interlocutors agreed that intensification of cooperation was their common goal, primarily of economic cooperation concerning the fields of infrastructure and energy, but in the field of culture as well. Mr. Tsipras reaffirmed Greek support to Serbia’s European integration process and reiterated its unaltered position concerning the non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo. During the talks both sides noted mutual need for increased political cooperation implying more frequent high-level visits, meetings between the two governments and the possibility for trilateral cooperation with other countries in the region. |
