First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic, during a visit to the Republic of Chile, spoke with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Heraldo Munoz Valenzuela.

Minister Dacic pointed out that it was most important that the Republic of Chile, as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council and an extremely important country in the international arena, supported the positions of Serbia.
The Foreign Minister of the Chilean Government stressed that his country would not change its position on Kosovo and on the territorial integrity of Serbia and that he would make every effort to deepen and foster the relations between Serbia and Chile.
Chile’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Heraldo Munoz Valenzuela accepted the invitation of Minister Dacic to visit Serbia during the course of next year. The Ministers expressed their belief that a free trade agreement would be signed during that visit, as well as agreements on police and defence cooperation and an agreement on mutual recognition of university degrees.
Minister Velenzuela pointed out that Chile was interested in investing in Serbia in the fields of agriculture, mining and energy.
The Serbian Foreign Minister said that Chile could be a good example to the Government of Serbia in implementing reforms, because in 25 years it managed to create a very successful economy and become one of the most developed countries in Latin America.
Minister Dacic said that the Serbian diaspora in Chile was small in number, but well organized, and that our Honorary Consul in that country was a very successful businessman.
During his visit to Chile, Minister Dacic met with the Speaker of the Chilean National Congress Chamber of Deputies Aldo Cornejo.
