HanCommissioner Hahn: Serbia as my first stop in the Western Balkans

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn.
Process of acquiring full EU membership is viewed as a joint endeavour and partner relationship between the Western Balkans and EU, said Minister Dacic adding that the involvement of Serbia’s EU partners in the discussion of the issues faced by our region is deemed important and beneficial.
The Head of Serbian Diplomacy informed Commissioner Hahn that opening of one of 35 chapters in accession talks was extremely important as support of Serbia’s reform process.
Minister Dacic informed his interlocutor, in great detail, of the priorities and plans for Serbia’s OSCE chairmanship in 2015, underlining, in particular, the fact that is an opportunity for Serbia to demonstrate to its partners, once again, its political credibility.
Commissioner Hahn pointed out that he chose Serbia as his first stop in the region following the assumption of his new duties as EU Commissioner, with a view to emphasizing the importance that the EU attaches to our country and its European integration process. He thanked Minister Dacic for his warm welcome and expressed readiness for cooperation and fostering of partner relations between Serbia and the EU. Commissioner Hahn expressed full readiness for the acceleration of Serbia’s EU integration process, which he will personally stand for.
