First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met with State Secretary of the Latvian Foreign Ministry Andrejs Pildegovics.

Discussing the bilateral relations between Serbia and Latvia, the two interlocutors agreed that the two countries needed to intensify their political and economic cooperation.

One of the topics of the talks was the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the EU which that country is due to take over on 1 January 2015, as well as Serbia's OSCE chairmanship which is due to begin in the same period.

The two officials' meeting offered an opportunity to discuss the forthcoming visit of the Serbian Foreign Minister to Riga scheduled for 10 December.
