China supports Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity

Dacic - Wang ChaoFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic had talks today with Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Wang Chao, Head of the Chinese delegation to the political consultations held between the Foreign Ministries of Serbia and China as well as to the meeting of the national coordinators for the China – CEEC mechanism.

Dacic expressed satisfaction with the regular practice of political consultations between the two countries, adding that he expected that they would provide a fresh impetus to the further development of their comprehensive cooperation. The two sides pointed out the importance of strengthening the political dialogue based on their strategic partnership and exchange of visits at top levels.

The officials confirmed the assessment that the two countries' political relations were excellent, and that they were characterized by full mutual understanding, trust and mutual support with regard to all issues of vital interest to both parties.

Minister Dacic expressed satisfaction with the fact that Serbia would host the China-CEEC Summit and especially that this would be an occasion when Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang would visit Serbia.

The Head of Serbian diplomacy underlined that Serbia highly appreciated Chinese support for Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity and its principled insistence on compliance with Resolution 1244, while Serbia strongly supported the One-China policy.

Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Wang Chao underscored that China attached great importance to the strengthening of cooperation with Serbia and expressed readiness for new concrete initiatives both on political and economic levels with a view to an all-round deepening and enhancement of partnership with China.

The two officials pointed to the importance of fostering bilateral cooperation between China and 16 CEE countries mechanism for cooperation and implementing concrete joint project in the fields of infrastructure and energy, particularly the project of modernization of the Belgrade-Budapest railway line.
