Ambassador of the Republic of Albania in Belgrade Ilir Boçka received today a strong protest note of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia following the "Greater Albania" flag provocations during yesterday's football match between Serbia and Albania.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs believes that such, obviously carefully pre-planned, incidents as the flying of a drone carrying a flag with an insignia of 'Greater Albania', over the pitch where a high-risk soccer match was taking place, seriously undermined the efforts aimed at building a relationship of trust and cooperation in the region. Serbia is committed to work on fostering good relations with its neighbours, expecting that its neighbours, in turn, will embrace the same approach and will not tolerate provocations of this kind.

It was made clear to the Albanian Ambassador that Serbia expected that the Albanian officials explicitly condemn last night's incidents, which would be the first necessary step towards overcoming the problem.
