Dacic - ReichelFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today Ambassador Ernst Reichel, Plenipotentiary of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs for South-Eastern Europe, Turkey and the EFTA countries, who came to Belgrade to participate in the Belgrade Security Forum.

Minister Dacic pointed out Serbia's readiness to develop and promote overall cooperation with FR Germany, where the intensification of political dialogue plays an important role. He underlined that Serbia was fully prepared for the negotiation process for the EU membership, as well as the expectation that the West Germany positively valorized the policy of the Government of the Republic of Serbia in implementing internal reforms, participation in the dialogue with Pristina and the contribution to the stabilization of the region, as well as to assist and support us in the negotiations for the EU membership.

The interlocutors discussed issues on bilateral cooperation, reforms in the country, the dialogue with Pristina, the situation in the region, as well as impressions and expectations after the Conference on the Western Balkans, which, at the initiative of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, was held in Berlin in late August.

During the conversation about the OSCE Chairmanship of Serbia, the candidacy of FRG for OSCE chairman after Serbia was particularly welcomed. The cooperation through the Troika format, with FRG besides Switzerland and Serbia, could significantly contribute to solving the current crisis in Ukraine.
