An aircraft of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Response landed today at "Nikola Tesla" Airport, carrying the humanitarian aid intended for flood victims in Serbia. This is the second consecutive aid shipment organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Moscow.
As emphasized by the Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry for Emergency Response Alexander Tomaskov, the humanitarian aid was collected by citizens from all over Russia, and came from "the heart and soul", and the Serbian diaspora acting in solidarity with the people affected in Serbia. Tomaskov pointed out that providing this support was an honor and duty, and that they would do so whenever needed. The aid was received by Goran Petrovic, Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for Bilateral Cooperation, Djordje Babic, Deputy Head of the Department for International Cooperation and Coordination of International Assistance of the Sector for Emergency Management of the Serbian Ministry of Interior, Viktor Safianov, Director of the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center in Nis, General Predrag Bandic from the Ministry of Defense and representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Belgrade. Ambassador Petrovic, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of the Republic of Serbia, expressed high gratitude to the Russian people and the leadership of the Russian Federation and said that this was another proof of the sincere friendship between the two peoples. |
