Dacic - VershbowIn the meeting that he had today on the margins of the 69th Session of the UN General Assembly with Deputy Secretary General of NATO Alexander Vershbow, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić said that the presence of international forces was crucially important for the stability and security of Kosovo and Metohija.

The Minister pointed out the importance of overall good communications with NATO and consultations on the upcoming OSCE Chairmanship by the Republic of Serbia. The Head of Serbian diplomacy conveyed that he expected an early signing of the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) in the framework of Serbia-NATO PfP cooperation. Also, the Minister informed that the Republic of Serbia yesterday co-sponsored a UN Security Council Resolution on terrorism and terrorist fighters, and that it was ready to make its own contribution in the fight against terrorism.

IPAP is the highest form of cooperation with NATO other than full membership. It envisages dialogue with the Alliance on politico-security, military-defence, administrative and public diplomacy matters, research cooperation and contingency planning.
