The delegation of the Republic of Serbia attending the general debate of the 69th regular session of the UN General Assembly will be led by President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolić. First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić will be a member of the Serbian delegation.
The President of Serbia will speak in the general debate, and together with Minister Dačić will participate in the General Assembly side events where international issues of global concern, such as climate change, population and development, peacekeeping operations and international fight against terrorism will be discussed. First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić will also participate in a series of regional organizations' meetings, traditionally staged as UN General Assembly side events, and will also meet with the OSCE representatives and Member States in the context of our preparations for the OSCE Chairmanship. The participation of the Serbian delegation will be used for a number of bilateral discussions with the UN members, aimed at the promotion of our national interests and the advancement of political and economic cooperation with these countries. This year's general debate at the 69th session of the General Assembly opened on 16 September and will run until 29 September. The Serbian delegation will be in New York from 22 to 26 September. |
