First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić received today the chief archivist and librarian at the Vatican Jean-Louis Brugès, who is on an official visit to Belgrade at the invitation of the National Library of Serbia.

Minister Dačić said that the relations between Serbia and the Holy See would be closer in the future, taking into account the recently signed Agreement on Cooperation in Higher Education between Serbia and the Holy See, as well as the Protocol of Cooperation signed by the National Library of Serbia and by the Vatican Library.

Archbishop Brugès informed the Minister about the possibility of cooperation between the two libraries in restoration, conservation and digitalization, stressing that the Vatican Library was open for access by researchers from all over the world.

The signature of the Protocol is yet another step towards better relations between Serbia and the Holy See.
