The Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted the initiative to implement the project "Organization of school in nature to help elementary school children - victims of flooding in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia", whose implementation will be started, already in September 2014, by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of Slovenia and the Slovenian centre for school curricular and extra-curricular activities.
The organization of these activities for children from flooded areas was proposed by Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Slovenia Aleksandar Radovanovic, which was immediately approved by the authorities, resulting in a formal initiative to the Government of Slovenia by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Slovenia. "School in Nature" Programme envisages stay in Slovenia and a seven-day teaching in the countryside for 1,500 pupils from flooded areas in Serbia, Bosnia and Croatia, in groups of about 50 students per week, for 30 weeks starting as of September 2014. Bearing in mind the importance of this project for children from the areas affected by the catastrophic floods, intensive communication lines have already been opened between the Embassy of Serbia in Ljubljana and the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of Slovenia, to ensure a timely start of the implementation of the "Schools in nature" and define further necessary activities. |
