WWI Salonika Front Exhibition Opens in Ljubljana

ljubljana-izlozbaAn exhibition staged by the Valjevo National Museum "The Salonika Front through the lens of the war painter and photographer Dragoljub Pavlovic", organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Ljubljana, opened in the Museum of recent history of Slovenia in Ljubljana, on 15 July 2014. Upon its showing in several towns of Slovenia, the exhibition has been included in the Slovenian national programme of WWI centenary commemorations.

The exhibition was opened by Adviser to the President of the Republic of Serbia Mrs. Jasmina Mitrovic Maric, and the welcome speech was delivered by Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Slovenia H.E. Mr. Aleksandar Radovanovic. On behalf of the Valjevo National Museum, Mrs. Dragan Lazarevic Ilic presented to the audience an expert opinion on the exhibition.

The exhibition is comprised of panels showing the works of the war painter and photographer Dragoljub Pavlovic who captured on camera, while documenting the very moments of a battle, some personal destinies of individuals, significant personalities of that time, as well as the landscapes and battlefields.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by the members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the Slovenian institutions, presidents and members of the Serbian associations in Slovenia, representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church, guests from the Valjevo National Museum, media representatives and other prominent invitees.

The exhibition "The Salonika Front through the lens of the war painter and photographer Dragoljub Pavlovic" in the Museum of recent history of Slovenia in Ljubljana will be on show until 10 September 2014.
