Japan is ready to participate in the Donors’ Conference

Dacic - NishimuraMinister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today Yasutoshi Nishimura, Senior Vice-Minister in the Prime Minister's Office of Japan in charge of disaster management.

Minister Dacic conveyed gratitude for the assistance coming from the Japanese government and people after catastrophic flooding hit Serbia. He expressed the hope that Japan, as a friendly country, would act in the same spirit at the upcoming donor conference, and reiterated Serbia's gratitude for the overall humanitarian, developmental and technical aid that Japan had sent to our country to date.

Senior Vice-Minister Nishimura underlined the readiness of Japan to participate in the Donors' Conference on July 16, and to extend considerable technical assistance to the sector managing natural disasters. He expressed gratitude for the solidarity expressed by the Serbian people and the government after the Great Tohoku earthquake struck Japan in 2011.

During the meeting, both sides have reaffirmed their interest in the promotion of overall bilateral relations and cooperation, especially in economy, and emphasized the importance of intensifying political dialogue and interaction at all levels.
