On the occasion of WWI centenary commemorations, the Serbian Ambassador accompanied by his spouse, Consul and Ms. Danica Grujic, one of the most senior members of the Serbian expatriate community in the Republic of South Africa, laid a wreath with a sash bearing the following words: To our glorious ancestors - the Embassy of Serbia in Pretoria, at the tomb of Dr. Slobodan Matic, who is considered to be the only Serbian WWI veteran laid to rest in the Republic of South Africa.
