Poland: Serbian Cultural Festival Vidovdan in Białystok

The 3rd Serbian Culture Festival Vidovdan (St. Vitus' Day) was held from 26 to 29 June in Białystok, organized by the Orthodox Church of St. John the Divine, and under the auspices of the City of Białystok and the Regional Assembly, while the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia sponsored the event.   Performances of Serbian spiritual music, the vocal group Constantine, and the Branko Choir from Nis, were held at the festival, among others. The films screened included Circles and Montevideo, as well as the documentary Patriarch Pavle - Life by the Gospel, and the exhibition titled The Colours of Orthodoxy - Serbia, was on show. In his address to the guests, the Serbian Ambassador to Warsaw, Radojko Bogojevic, thanked for the enthusiasm and years-long work of the clergy and the authorities of the Podlaskie Province aimed at the strengthening of ties between the Serbian and Polish peoples, and at the promotion of Serbian cultural and historical heritage in the Republic of Poland.
