Dacic - BorchardtFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with Head of the EULEX Mission in Kosovo Bernd Borchardt.

They discussed the issue of the current cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the EULEX Mission, as well as the possibilities for its further improvement, due to the fact that one of the Mission's main tasks is ensuring the rule of law in Kosovo.

The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the decision of the Council of the European Union to extend the mandate of the EULEX Mission until June 2016, as its legal basis and mandate are based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244.

Minister Dacic conveyed the expectation of the Republic of Serbia that during the next two years, EULEX would continue its activities in the current scope of jurisdiction, because the EULEX Mission, together with the presence of other international actors in Kosovo, such as UNMIK and KFOR, is a guarantee of the survival of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija.
