Summit of the Governments – an impetus for the cooperation between Serbia and Hungary, Foreign Ministers agreed |

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic participated today in the first Summit of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of Hungary, which was held at the Palace of Serbia. In addition to the participation in a joint plenary session of the Governments of the Republic of Serbia and Hungary and the formal lunch, hosted by Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic in honor of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and the delegation, Minister Dacic met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Hungary Tibor Navracsics, on the margins of the Summit.
Both Ministers expressed their satisfaction with the Summit of the two Governments, considering it an impetus for further improvement and expansion of various forms of bilateral cooperation. The relations between the Republic of Serbia and Hungary were assessed as very good, and the joint commitment to continuation of the political dialogue and cooperation was reaffirmed. First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dacic expressed gratitude to Hungary for its consistent support to Serbia's European integration and the prompt technical and staff assistance it offered to Serbia in the recent floods. On this occasion, he also invited his Hungarian counterpart to pay an official bilateral visit to Serbia in autumn. Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Navracsics pointed to Hungary's commitment to the continuation of the EU enlargement process to the Western Balkan region, reiterating its readiness to share its experience and provide political and professional, technical assistance to Serbia in the accession talks. In this context, the two Foreign Ministers agreed to hold regular consultations and intensify the cooperation between the two Ministries in the coming period.
