Within the event commemorating the 100th anniversary of the First World War, the Serbian Embassy in Egypt has organized, in cooperation with the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University in Cairo, the competition for the best student artworks. The award ceremony and exhibition opening was held on Sunday, 15 June 2014, in the presence of the representatives of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Higher Education, the diplomatic corps, students, participants of the competition and other guests. Opening the exhibition, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia Dragan Bisenic emphasized the importance of liberation in the First World War. This cultural event, which was received considerable publicity in the print media, was broadcast by the Egyptian National Television and "Niall TV".
