Dacic - KirbyFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today a courtesy call from U.S. Ambassador to Belgrade Michael Kirby.

The main topics of discussion were the resumption of political dialogue, further development of bilateral relations, the cooperation within international organizations, especially in the light of the incoming Serbian OSCE co-chairmanship, joint work on addressing security challenges around the world and other current international issues.

In a cordial conversation the two interlocutors agreed that the continuation and enhancement of political dialogue and the overall bilateral relations was in mutual interest. Minister Dacic emphasized in particular that, although the European integration of Serbia was among the main foreign policy priorities of the country, the good relations between Belgrade and Washington were also of tremendous importance.

Ambassador Michael Kirby expressed readiness to continue the dialogue on current world developments, primarily with regard to the crisis in Ukraine. He stressed the belief that the Republic of Serbia "will have the chance to shine, and will take that chance" during the incoming consecutive OSCE chairmanship.
