Following the attack on Istvan Pastor, Speaker of the Vojvodina Assembly and the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians, which occurred on 6 May in Budapest, where Mr. Pastor attended the inauguration of the Hungarian Parliament, Ambassador Slobodan Vukcevic, Head of Neighbouring Countries and Southeast Europe Department, talked to Mr. Oscar Nikovitz, Hungarian Ambassador to Belgrade.
It was conveyed in the conversation that the Republic of Serbia condemned the incident and expected an adequate response by the competent Hungarian authorities. Also, it was pointed out that we were surprised by the fact that none of those present reacted.
