Consular consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina were held today at the Serbian MFA. Delegations were headed by Assistant Foreign Ministers in charge of consular affairs Dragan Momcilovic and Zoran Perkovic.
Current issues concerning consular cooperation were discussed in the talks, with particular emphasis placed on the positive experiences gained in the implementation of the bilateral Agreement on mutual provision of consular services and protection for their respective nationals in third countries. This form of cooperation is particularly visible in the countries where one of the states does not have its diplomatic and consular mission, and the need for immediate consular assistance arises. Concrete activities of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Brasilia were agreed in principle, concerning provision of consular protection for the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, where Bosnia and Herzegovina does not have its diplomatic and consular mission. It was also agreed that future forms of cooperation be agreed upon at the upcoming expert-level meetings. |
