State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Snezana Jankovic received today Minister Plenipotentiary in charge of Southeast Europe, Turkey and the EFTA countries at the German Foreign Ministry.

They discussed bilateral relations, the EU membership negotiation process, as well as the continuation of the dialogue with Pristina, after the parliamentary elections in Serbia. In addition, they also talked about the situation in the region, particularly in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The State Secretary expressed concern over the announced revision of the EULEX Mission and strong opposition to the decision of the provisional institutions in Pristina that "Kosovo Security Forces" be transformed into "Kosovo armed forces", recalling the NATO guarantees that KSF will not be present in the north of Kosovo.

State Secretary Jankovic underlined the support of the Republic of Serbia to the integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, adding that Serbia supports any agreement reached by the three peoples and two entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She expressed her belief that the EU should be more engaged, particularly in fostering economic development.

Minister Plenipotentiary at the German Foreign Ministry Reichel assessed the normalization process with Pristina as exceptionally important and stressed the significance of the successful implementation of the Brussels Agreement. He presented his position that the Republic of Serbia played an important role in stabilizing the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Both sides expressed their interest in strengthening the overall bilateral cooperation and in intensifying the dialogue between the two countries.
